Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about Catalyzer Training: what it is, who it’s for and how it works.
About the program
Catalyzer is a voluntary, foundational e-learning program and the first Project Catalyst initiative to launch. It’s one program made up of four short courses: process improvement and process mapping, resilience, AI fluency and data stewardship.
No. Project Catalyst is an investment in our people, not a job-cutting exercise. Catalyzer builds skills that protect and grow your value, so you can spend less time on workarounds and more on the work that matters.
Fragmented systems, manual processes and limited access to data make everyday work harder than it should be. Catalyst tackles these together, and it starts by investing in people. Read more about Project Catalyst.
Taking part
No. Catalyzer is voluntary. If you take part, your manager will support protected time for learning, so it doesn’t add to your workload.
The pilot starts with PM staff as a founding cohort. That’s about testing the program, not about merit. Catalyzer will open to more of the university in Phase 2, the institution-wide launch planned for May 2027.
Yes. Talk to your manager about protected time. The program is designed to fit around your work across twelve weeks.
Dates and timeline
The completion window runs from November 30 to February 28. It spans the holidays on purpose, so you can learn at a pace that suits you.
About eight hours in total across the four courses, spread over twelve weeks. You can take the courses in any order.
Your feedback will help us refine the program. Catalyzer will then expand, first to communities of practice and then to the wider university, with the institution-wide launch planned for May 2027.
Progress and certificate
Your progress dashboard is private by default. Sharing it, with your manager or anyone else, is your choice.
AI Fluency is an external module, so its progress updates in the learning platform weekly, not instantly. Give it up to a week to show.
Complete all four courses to earn your Catalyzer certificate and digital badges. Completion is encouraged, not required.
